People who critique game have baby minds?

I didn't think this until I played all of the games that gamespot said had good storylines. Like they said games like Gears of war, Battlefield bad company, have great and enjoyable cast of characters? WELL GAMESPOT IS WRONG! Most gaming critiquing sites are like this and its really ticking me off! Most of the storylines they say are great are very childish and very non-gritty characters. If the characters are too musky, gritty, and dark and display an EMO since of morality like Kane and Lynch and Silent hill they are often downplayed. Ive seen alot of movies that critics have rated and they are downplayed to. Why is this?
