Will my accessories for my 5th gen 30 gig ipod work on a new ipod clic?

I am specifically talking about my JBL speakers and usb cables. My brother says the usb port is different on the new ones, so the cables and whatever won't fit. Is this true? What are the differences between a 5th gen and a 6 generation (clic), besides gigs, because my ipod no longer holds a charge as of this morning and i have to get a new one. I cannot really find anything on line. Please help me!! I cannot live with out my ipod video!!!!!
