Does yahoo text cost for unlimited texters?

ive been texting my friend off yahoo email text from my computer to their phone and they have unlimited texing but it says "Wireless carriers may charge the recipient fees for receiving and sending text messages." so are they still getting charged even though theyre unlimited? if so im scared cause i wrote them alot.
