Help with Statistical ysis (Will Choose Best Answer)?

I am doing a research paper for my ecology cl. I conducted a study in three different areas and collected data on the number of species present. Would an ANOVA test be the best way to yze this data? My professor suggested using a T-test but this would only cover two samples. Any suggestions for yzing this data?
